The College Conqueror Workshop

High school students are weighed down with the responsibility of achieving a high GPA. impressive SAT scores, and writing essays that stand out amongst the countless other applicants when seeking admission to their first-choice college or university.  Most students devote their four years of high school trying to earn a notable spot on the list of those admitted to college.  They keep their grades up throughout high school, take SAT or ACT prep courses, and dedicate their summer vacation to writing admission essays and filling out applications.  Both parents and students are relieved when acceptance letters come in the mail and they think that all the hard work is behind them.

Yet, 13% of freshman college students drop-out their first year in school.   And only 64% of college students graduate at all- it takes these students an average of six years to earn a Bachelor's Degree.

With all the time and money dedicated to getting a student into college, one would think just as much time would be spent preparing them for it.  And more importantly, teaching them how to stay there.  Although there are many books available that teach college students on how to survive college, that is not enough.  The founder and director of the College Conqueror Workshop, Chantal Korkis, believes that college students should not view college as something they want to survive, but something they want to conquer.

The College Conqueror Workshop is a college preparatory course designed to equip future and current college students with the tools and resources they need to get the most out of college without letting it get the best out of them.  Currently, the workshop serves residents in southwestern Florida.  Available dates and locations can be found on the Calendar of Events page.
